Dear Grush Bunch,
Well hello from northwest Indiana. It is almost Memorial Day so let the summer begin! I sure hope it is a great summer for all of you.
Jason has had some big changes in his life this year. In the middle of Ohio Universities swim season the Athletic Director informed the Men's Swim team that the sport would be eliminated after the 06 - 07 season This was announced about 45 days before the Mid American Conference Championships meet. He ended up making the Second Team All Conference and qualified for National Swim meets with his time in the 100 breaststroke. What this means is he can compete in Olympic Qualifying meets. Since he can compete in these meets he is continuing to train with the Women's swim team and has decided not to transfer to another school. he will no longer swim on a University swim team and that s a bummer but he thinks the National meets will be enough to keep him motivated in the water. I guess we will find out. He is also moving off campus next year so we will be making a few trips to Ohio with all the stuff he will need for his apartment. On top of all that he may be changing his major too. he is getting a good opportunity to make a lot of important decisions this year. That is a part of growing up as he is finding out!
Hannah is in 4 th grade and almost ready to move into 5th grade. She still loves school fortunately. She got a piano for Christmas and started Piano Lessons in late March. She is loving it and is pretty good for a beginner. She loves Monday nights because that is her piano lesson night. This summer she is going to take Cello lessons with the beginners Orchestra at the local High School She appears to be the family musician. That is good because we are short on musicians in our house and ever since Jason gave up the Trumpet 3 years ago.
We have done a little traveling over the first part of this year. We went to Miami with some friends over a weekend in mid January. We then went to Jason's Conference swim meet in Buffalo in late February. IF you were wondering there are better destinations in Feb. than Buffalo. We did go to Niagara Falls and that was beautiful. Bobbie then went to see her sister in Connecticut in March for her sisters birthday. We made a couple of trips to Athen's Ohio to see Jason at school. Those trips are always fun. we even got to participate in a campus rally to protest the administration dropping the men's swim team. We did not end up going to jail or having the police shoot tear gas at us so I guess it was a success. We then spent spring break in balmy Iowa! The weather was not good but the company was as we spent a few days with Mom and Dad and Sandy and Dave.
We will hopefully have a chance to get together with family this summer. Those plans are up in the air but it should work out. We hope you all have a great summer and fall and it is great to hear from all of you.
God Bless you all,
Rob, Bobbie, Jason & Hannah
